It Gets Better

Many people don't know this but in 2015 MTM (formerly Metamorphosis Productions) began as an outlet for me to express my thoughts through documentary filmmaking. In 2018 I focused heavily on becoming a better photographer but I believe I'll be getting back into film a lot more this year.

The video is short film I put together addressing one of the issues many people are afraid to talk about. That issue is Mental Health. Topics such as depression and anxiety are real but I find that society somehow avoids the issues that need to be addressed the most.

I believe as artists, we have a responsibility to shed light on weighty issues through whichever medium we're most comfortable with. Mine happen to be film and photography.

If you know someone struggling with mental health, I recommend seeking out wise and trusted counsel. These things aren't taboo, they're apart of life but unfortunately many people don't know how to approach these topics, much less provide a solution for it.

It is my hope that this video not only inspires you to think about mental heath, but motivates you to move beyond that and have the necessary conversations. If you know someone who's struggling, be their support system. If you're struggling then this is for you. Most importantly, seek out the help you deserve.
